The End of an Era

Howdy!

Well, it is finals week of my freshmen year. It's crazy to think that I have been in college since June and all the things that have happened to me and all the people I have met. What an amazing ride!

Well, since Preference there have been several fun things that have happened. First off, the week after Preference my FHE dad Jamie Testi and I went on a spontaneous trip to Salt Lake. IT was lots of fun! WE basically played around and the highlight of our day was that we saw I Am Number Four (The movie). Now we are convinced that he is number 8 and I am number 9! :)

After this my roommates and I ahd a retreat at Rachelle's house, and the next weekend was my birthday! :) It was lots of fun. There were two general authorities that came (one of them was speaking) and my roomies (old and new) took time ot make me special desserts and made me feel really special! :)

Then about a week or so after that my parents and Devin and his family came up for St. APtrick's Day (okay, so it was really Spring Break). Then there was a dance called Invitational which  Iwent to after seeing the INCREDIBLE Young Ambassadors in concert! Invitational was called Passport ot Europe and there were many countries represented. Oh! And of course they made France Purple!!! :)

It was pretty awesome!! :) then after that there was a dance and a Men's Chorus concert all on the same night and it was quite fun as well! Apparently there are a LOT of guys that I know in the choir! :)

Then the MOST fun thing of the Semester was the Disney Villain dinner that I planned! :) (With the help of my awesome roommate Rachelle!) IT was soooo much fun! Everyone got REALLY into it! It was with our FHE brothers and it could not have been a better evening!

So we had, The Evil Queen from Snow White, Ramsley the butler from The Haunted Manshion, Sid from Toy Story, Mad Madame Mim from The Sword and the Stone (Me!), Scar from The Lion King, Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmations, Shego from Kim Possible, Clayton from Tarzan, Hades from Hercules, Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove, Shan Yu from Mulan, and Mother Gothel from Tangled. It was AWESOME!!! :)

We were supposed to e in partnerships so it was me and Noah who were Mad Madam Mim and Hades! WE were incharge of drinks so they were blood red with gummy worms in them because Hades drinks a drink that has a real worm in it in the movie! :)

This was our delicious dinner!! As you can tell dessert was a little scary! ;)

This is my 16th Post. That's my favorite number! Let's talk about Preference!

Howdy!

I'm sorry that I've like disappeared off the face of the planet (I say that EVERY post!) But, this has been a stressful and kinda hard past month or however long it's been since I've written! But, there have been good things as well!

On Friday Holly and Nate came into town and we went to Arby's to dine! It was sooo good to see them again because I haven't seen them since August and we had a lot of fun. Holly looks pregnant and it's so weird! But it was awesome to see her like that! It was really short though because I had to go to Cinderella the ballet!!! :) It was sooo good! That dancers were really good and I loved getting to interpret the story. I really enjoyed it. :)

The next day was Preference! I went with a guy named Breyton Barber who is not in my ward but does live in Heritage Halls. He's awesome! We went to Zupas for dinner and then we went to the dance at a golf course in Orem. The building looked like something out of Beauty and the Beast which is good because that was the theme of the dance we went too! The other three themes were Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and Toy Story. Beauty and the Beast was good though because they had people dressed like the characters and on the table there were roses frozen to look like the one from the movie. The Ballroom team also performed like six times, but we missed it. :( (I was most looking forward to that!) My funniest stories from the evening though was that we had to sew Danielle into her dress because her zipper broke so we were an hour off of schedule and then when we got to the dance, Lumiere hit on me! Hahaha! :) Well here are some pictures:

Howdy!

Well, recently there are has been a lot of changes that have happened to me. I have decided to go back to the way that I acted when I first came to summer term at BYU. When I came I was scared out of my MIND, so to compensate for that I naturally decided to be outgoing and try to make myself crazy adn fun like I am when I am in my most comfortable state, like being at home. Over the fall I got stressed out about a few things and worried about others and it seemed to bring me down to a level that  Idid not personally enjoy. Over Christmas break  Icame to a realization of all of this. I feel like Rapunzel when she sings "I could go running/ and racing/ and dancing/ and chasing/ and leaping/ and bounding/ hair flying/ heart pounding/ and splashing/ and reeling/ and finally feeling/ now's when my life begins!"

So, here are my New Year's Resolutions, if you will:

1. I am going to see the good in other people and give more compliments. This also means that I am going to talk to everyone and try to make friends or acquaintances wth more people.

2. I am going to notice the things in my everyday life. There are so many things that I should be grateful for and that should bring me immense joy, so I am going to go back to recognizing everything that makes me smile!

3. I am going to be more Optimistic! I became really pessimistic this fall and I do not like that! So, I am going to "Keep Movng Forward!" (Meet the Robinson's) and I am going ot find things to do that will bring joy and less stress.

4.  Iam also going to participate in things that I love. This means that I am attending more performances nad am looking for opportunities to perfom myself or to do things that I like.

5. I am going to truly turn towards that Lord because he is my best friend and over the past few days I have learned SOOO much from reading hte scriptures and my Patriarichal blessing. I am truly all smiles about the truth and goodness of the gospel!

So that is what I am going to be like for the next little bit! What out world, here I come!! :)

Baby it's Cold outside!

Howdy!!

So...a new semester has begun and it looks like it'll be more difficult than the last one. I have a lot of writing and reading to do and overlapping assignments. Welcome to college! :) It shoudn't be too bad though; all I have to think is that in April I will have successfully finished a year of college! :) Woot! Woot!

The part that is even more unfun than classes is that when I showed up in Utah everything was covered in snow!! It's everywhere! It's fun and really pretty but, I'd like it ot be a little bit more warm and perhaps not as long as a month! :) But it'll be nice to get used to things like that.

I'm excited for this semester and the changes that it is bringing. In true BYU spirit there is a dance on Friday, and maybe I'll go. It all depends on whether or not I can watch the Aggies play in the Cotton Bowl! ;) I mean I still have to support my other team even though I am at a different college! :)

Christms Day!

Hello all!

Well, it is Christmas Day and it was a wonderful Christmas! :) Laurel and her family came and suprised me for Christmas! It was awesome! Kit and his family came up for a few days and Devin and his family were here too. Sadly, Holly was not allowed to make it... :(

Christmas was lots of fun though and I got a lot of useful things too! I got a new camera and lots of warm clothes!!! :)

Finals week!

Oh wow!

I have just realized that I have failed pretty mich all semester to keep you up-to-date on my life! Let's see....there was Homecoming, Halloween, Thanksgiving and many other great parties and funness! :)

And sadly now it is the end of the semester! It has snowed quite a bit here (except for now it is completely dry) and it is COLD! It makes me ask myself why I live in Utah!! :) Yesterday was the last time I'm going to Irish dance in a classroom setign for the year and it was kinda sad! Today I went to Book of Mormon and Biology for the last time and in a little bit I'll go to Anthropology for the last time too. It is soooo sad! My bio professor had written a reflection of the semester that came with a Christmas Blessing for all of us. It was kinda sad and at the same time it showed how much he really cares for each and everyone of us! :)

I don't officially start taking my finals until monday for the rest of my classes, and next friday  Iget ot come home! I'm excited that I finally get to go back ot the state of Texas that I have missed SOOO much since I've been here since June. I kinda understand what missionaries go through only it's not like I can't see them after seven months! IT'll be so awesome to come home to the one holiday that my family is REALLY into. I can't wait to see the beauty of Christmas as it is only expressed in my house! I think ANYONE who hasn't seen my house at Christmas has never seen Christmas beauty! :) I mean my decorations now are just not the same!

But, anyways! I mean my roommates are NOT as pro as me! ;)

Random Questions!

Hey Everyone!

I know I have not blogged in like over a month! I do plan to update everyone on everything that has been going on! But, for right now my sister has challenged me to answer some questions so here they are!

1.What are you going to be for Halloween, and what made you choose that?

Well, I am going to be Smurfette! I think I chose that because ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted to be one! Wouldn't it just be the coolest thing to be tiny and blue? Not to mention the fact that she is the only smurfette in a sea of smurf men! :) I mena come on! when she was first created it was to seduce all the smurf men into the hands of the evil wizard Gargamel! I just think it would be totally awesome to be her! :) 



2. What is one random fact about you that not many people are aware of?

One random fact that not many people are aware of....hmm....that is a toughy! I would have to say that when I was in the 5th grade I actually won the school spelling bee and went on to the city comeptition. I don't tell many people because that kinda paints me as a nerdy kid! Oh well, I guess no longer!


3. If you could go on a trip to anywhere in the world, where would you go?

Anywhere in the world? I would most definitely have to say Europe. Mainly Ireland and maybe France. Ireland because I have wnated to go there my ENTIRE life! I have had an obsession with that country as long as I can remember. My ancestors came from there and there is a mysticism that seems to come with it as well. I love it so much that I'm in Irish Dancing and the color I own the most of is green! France, just because I really like the culture. I just found out that all of my favorite movies (with the exception of one or two) take place in France. (Ever After, The Phantom of the Opera, The Hunchback of Notre Dome, Beauty and the Beast, and The Aristocrats!)


4. What color best describes you, and why?

The color that best describes me would be purple! It would be purple because everything that I own is purple! Alos, it is a cool, relaxed color and it has some mystery in it! So I like ot think that I am relaxed and mysterious! :)


5. What is one piece of jewelry you absolutely can not leave the house without wearing? (aside from your wedding ring, if applicable)
 
Well it is not applicable! But the piece of jewelry that I cannot leave the house without would be the ring that I got for graduation from my parents to replace the ring of my mother's that I lost the week before. It has an amethyst and diamonds and is gorgeous! I also love that fact that it came from people I love soooooo much! :)
 
So, I do not have that many followers, so I'm not going to ask questions for three people to answer! I do promise to update my life as soon as I can! :)
